KARATE KID

The remake of the cult film “Karate Kid” makes allusions to the original, but also brings in new elements.
Dre is an American boy who moves to Beijing with his mother. There he is badly bullied. He has no friends in
the new country.
In the land of Kung Fu, they don't think much of the foreign kid who just knows karate.
Worst of all, his relation to classmate Mei Ying seems doomed. This makes Dre take martial arts lessons from
the elusive Mr Han.

The character of 12-year-old Dre is played by Jaden Smith, son of famous actor Will Smith. Jackie Chan plays Mr Han, the modern counterpart to Mr Myagi. Like Mr Myagi, Mr Han is a secretive person.
He teaches Dre that Kung Fu is not about kicks and punches. It is a question of keeping your inner calm. At
the end of the day, standing up for yourself is not about fighting.

Answer the questions.
Is it difficult to move to a new school or move to a new country?
What can you do to stop bullying at  school?

  1. of course it's difficult to move to a new school, and it's even more difficult to move to a new country. I think that is a terrifying but also costructive experience... afterall he is a kid who is brought in a new reality, in which he must make new friends and, in the film's case, without the use of a common language.
The bullies problem is a "never-ending" problem, all we can do is to educate and grow our future sons with teaching like the respect for the others and the equality of the men

  2. As Luke said it is difficult to change the school and even more country. When you change school there is often bullying because the new people aren't well accepted by the group. The first way to stop bullying is definitely a good education.
